Weekend Spotlight: Lucidity Festival (Live Oak Camp, Santa Barbara)

This week we wanted to highlight the birth of a new festival and a kickoff to your summer festival season. The Lucidity Festival has not only a stacked lineup of groovalicious musicians, but also has an abundance of fresh foods and workshops to keep your energy levels cruising. In its first year and with the support and hard work that has been put into it, this is not to be missed! It is always refreshing to get away from the rush of the week, and the Live Oak Camp with it’s nature-driven setting, should provide an epic weekend of creativity! Nab your ticket here, rally the troops and allow your mind to be blown. This is your festival, allow it!

From the site:
Lucidity is an open-source transformational arts and music festival. We call it open-source because we will be co-creating this festival experience with YOU! We invite you to come play with us, get involved with one of our six themed villages, bring art, lead a workshop, spark a spontaneous flash mob, embody a character from your dreams, be silly and wild and free! We are bringing together a world class lineup of musical talent and weaving them together with the sounds and vibrations of our beloved local stars. Our galleries will showcase the sickest fine art our region has to offer, promising to enrich the festival as a visual voyage. Art installations will pleasure participants with multi-sensory stimulation while themed environments will create intimate settings for personal connections. Lucidity’s environmental commitment is to leave Live Oak better than before.

When we become lucid in our dreams, we realize ourselves as infinite potential, we let go of fear, and we are free to create that which we want to see in the world. Bring those visions, those possibilities, and that delicious conscious energy with you to Lucidity and wake up in the dream.

Groovy Vibes Make The World Go Round (Lightning In A Bottle 2012 Mixtape – Bearded Dunkkle)

#Inthebasement. The Bearded Dunkkle, a collaboration project of Beardy and Dunkkle, spent the evening deep in the basement to bring you they first Lightning in a Bottle mixtape of the year! We took a unique approach to our set in that none of the artists are slated to be at LIB, however we found it to encompass the vibe that is there, and anticipate this transporting you to the wonderful land of groovy vibes and wonderful people…welcome home!

Tracklist

Mushroom Jazz (Kojack – Mark Farina)

Mushroom Jazz is the shiznit! Sure bangers are epic, but we here at AllowThat strongly support the mindset that all electronic music has its place. This techy set is much needed and we thank you, Mark Farina, for keeping things just the way we like it, groovy! Get your DL on!

Groove Magic (Home (Kollektiv Turmstrasse – Interstellar Mix) – M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade)

There is a reason that Booka Shade is on AllowThat’s A-list when it comes to electronic music. Their unique blend of underground electronic vibes and sounds, along with the infusion of jazz, rock, and other musical genres, allows their musical personality to influence the EDM community and certainly explains why Booka Shade was voted one of the world’s Top 5 live acts by Resident Advisor. Snag their latest release and get out and share that groove magic!

Ooooo ahhhhh (Pretty Lights – Ultra Music Festival 2012 live set)

Pretty Lights live…one of the most high energy dancefloors around. May not be the electro bangers we all know and love, but there is something about their live sets that just gets everybody infused with that awesome community atmosphere that EDM is known to infect us with. This set is no different and thanks to the fine folks at Press Play Colorado their live set from this past weekend is ready to awaken your ears on this hump day!
