LIBing The Dream!

Lightning in a Bottle, allowed! This past weekend was awesome, actually that is an understatement, it was epic! A long time in the making, we finally got out to one of the coolest festivals known as LIB {Lightning in a Bottle for the out of the loop folk}.

Just as the wristbands stated, it was legendary. The 5-day festival takes place on the grounds of Oak Canyon Ranch, overlooking the mountains and lake and is one of the most beautiful I have seen. It is split into two areas, the music and camping at the bottom of the hill, and the yoga zen-like vibe of the hilltop temple grounds.

Highlights included yoga with The Human Experience soundtracking, Om Shan Tea, too much music to pick a fav {Govinda, Shpongle, The Lucent Dossier Experience, EOTO, Big Gigantic to name a few}, raw food, awesome discussions, and a ton of new friends and perspectives to take back to the default world.

Legendary!

Weekend Spotlight: Lucidity Festival (Live Oak Camp, Santa Barbara)

This week we wanted to highlight the birth of a new festival and a kickoff to your summer festival season. The Lucidity Festival has not only a stacked lineup of groovalicious musicians, but also has an abundance of fresh foods and workshops to keep your energy levels cruising. In its first year and with the support and hard work that has been put into it, this is not to be missed! It is always refreshing to get away from the rush of the week, and the Live Oak Camp with it’s nature-driven setting, should provide an epic weekend of creativity! Nab your ticket here, rally the troops and allow your mind to be blown. This is your festival, allow it!

From the site:
Lucidity is an open-source transformational arts and music festival. We call it open-source because we will be co-creating this festival experience with YOU! We invite you to come play with us, get involved with one of our six themed villages, bring art, lead a workshop, spark a spontaneous flash mob, embody a character from your dreams, be silly and wild and free! We are bringing together a world class lineup of musical talent and weaving them together with the sounds and vibrations of our beloved local stars. Our galleries will showcase the sickest fine art our region has to offer, promising to enrich the festival as a visual voyage. Art installations will pleasure participants with multi-sensory stimulation while themed environments will create intimate settings for personal connections. Lucidity’s environmental commitment is to leave Live Oak better than before.

When we become lucid in our dreams, we realize ourselves as infinite potential, we let go of fear, and we are free to create that which we want to see in the world. Bring those visions, those possibilities, and that delicious conscious energy with you to Lucidity and wake up in the dream.

Lucidity Festival, Live Oak Camp, Santa Barbara, CA – April 13-15th

“When we become lucid in our dreams, we realize ourselves as infinite potential, we let go of fear, and we are free to create that which we want to see in the world. Bring those visions, those possibilities, and that delicious conscious energy with you to Lucidity and wake up in the dream.”

With all of the awesome, yet similar festivals popping up for the summer scene, choices can get difficult. Luckily for us, amidst the beasts known simply as EDC, Ultra, and Coachella among others emerges the rejuvenating twist to your standard festival, this is the Lucidity Festival. For those of you that recall, Lightning In A Bottle, first began as a small intimate festival in this very same location. The experience and community vibe that is being created around this, could be bigger than the artists and musicians themselves.

With Burning Man tickets essentially gone, and LIB still a distant lover, this could prove to be one of the best decisions you make. Chances are you will come back with more than you left with. Free your mind and experience lucidity!

The rumor train (Lightning in a Bottle 2012)

Rumors. We love and hate them. They provide us with hope and excitement, and at the same time let us down when they are uncovered as false. The Do Lab just sent the AllowThat team an email regarding some artists to watch out for in the coming months, and fancy that, they help to run the greatness that is Lightning In A Bottle. They leave us with two artists to keep on the radar, R/D and Robot Koch. Our fingers are crossed that they land on the Lightning In A Bottle 2012 lineup released Tuesday March 13th…
