Beats Antique hooks it up huge today offering three of their albums free in honor of their recent Coachella appearance. You can snag the albums here. It is great to see their music spreading to new audiences and with a tour spreading its wings across the US over these next few months, this is not one to miss out on. Also to be noted is that Sidecar Tommy, beatmaker and co-producer/songwriter of Beats Antique will be at Lightning in a Bottle this year, stoked!
Dreadsquad was brought to us by a fellow festival attendee last weekend. Being reggae lovers here at AllowThat, we were a bit surprised that they had not been previously introduced our ears to them. While seemingly polar opposites, EDM and reggae music seem to share the very similar vibe through their community. As areas of dubstep begin to close the gap between these epic genres of music, remixes like this one from Radikal Guru show us just how throwing a little rastafarian twist into your next setlist could be just what the doctor ordered. A little reggae dub for your Tuesday and a sneak peek at Friday’s festivities…are you feeling irie?!
Summer sessions are heating up and for EDM this means only one thing….Ibiza. Lissat & Voltaxx, drop this tech-house gem on us and ring in the summer season right! Some say EDM shines in darkness, but it is hard to beat a summer beach party on the island of musical seduction!
This week we wanted to highlight the birth of a new festival and a kickoff to your summer festival season. The Lucidity Festival has not only a stacked lineup of groovalicious musicians, but also has an abundance of fresh foods and workshops to keep your energy levels cruising. In its first year and with the support and hard work that has been put into it, this is not to be missed! It is always refreshing to get away from the rush of the week, and the Live Oak Camp with it’s nature-driven setting, should provide an epic weekend of creativity! Nab your ticket here, rally the troops and allow your mind to be blown. This is your festival, allow it!
From the site:
Lucidity is an open-source transformational arts and music festival. We call it open-source because we will be co-creating this festival experience with YOU! We invite you to come play with us, get involved with one of our six themed villages, bring art, lead a workshop, spark a spontaneous flash mob, embody a character from your dreams, be silly and wild and free! We are bringing together a world class lineup of musical talent and weaving them together with the sounds and vibrations of our beloved local stars. Our galleries will showcase the sickest fine art our region has to offer, promising to enrich the festival as a visual voyage. Art installations will pleasure participants with multi-sensory stimulation while themed environments will create intimate settings for personal connections. Lucidity’s environmental commitment is to leave Live Oak better than before.
When we become lucid in our dreams, we realize ourselves as infinite potential, we let go of fear, and we are free to create that which we want to see in the world. Bring those visions, those possibilities, and that delicious conscious energy with you to Lucidity and wake up in the dream.
As if you needed another reason to get your slacker self a last minute ticket (#goodluck,#slimchance,#please) to Coachella, a certain groove train by the name of Modeselektor will be doing horrible things to those in attendence at the Mojave stage at 9:45. If you can’t make it, the Lucidity Festival still has a few tickets and should provide equal epicness, make it happen!

Wolfgang Gartner does no wrong. Anything he gets his hands on is bound to be explosive, and this banger is no different! An already epic tune taken to the next level. Is it Friday yet?!?!
Taking you all to the stars and back with this track from Feed Me. With a plethera of funky basslines and radical progressions, we find the Feed Me we all know and love. Crusing through this pre-Coachella weekend in style, and looking forward to him blowing us away with his Friday night set, feed us some tasty electro-banging treats!!
OWSLA hooking it up once again with their Free Treats Volume 2 release. If you haven’t snagged this up, get on it, as it’s holds a plethora of energy to unleash on your ears! Dunkkle got busy an mixed a few of the tastiest treats into his bangin’ mixtape for your Saturday pre-party, so get weird and bring some extra life to that party of yours! OWSLA amazing us once again with their eclectic mix of dubstep and electro-house artists. Party on!
#Inthebasement. The Bearded Dunkkle, a collaboration project of Beardy and Dunkkle, spent the evening deep in the basement to bring you they first Lightning in a Bottle mixtape of the year! We took a unique approach to our set in that none of the artists are slated to be at LIB, however we found it to encompass the vibe that is there, and anticipate this transporting you to the wonderful land of groovy vibes and wonderful people…welcome home!
Mushroom Jazz is the shiznit! Sure bangers are epic, but we here at AllowThat strongly support the mindset that all electronic music has its place. This techy set is much needed and we thank you, Mark Farina, for keeping things just the way we like it, groovy! Get your DL on!
